Very Interesting Week

Well, I spent the week in New orleans with the hopes of completing the video project. The goal was not achieved. I could not extent the learning requirement of the course because unfortunately I did not have all the necessary knowledge or tools. I did accomplish sending and completeing my LA for KAMII. I did accomplish alot of reading and experimenting with RSS and uploading from a computer to an MP3 player but the ultimate goal was not accomplished. I see no alternative but to withdraw from the course until I can get a better handle on the video part of this course.

The week at Edison

Well, I try to incorporate what I learn each week in class with what I can teach the students. We have been doing alot of collaboration lately so just to show you some things.
Picture one is the beginning of the Parthenon in Greece. It was started withthe help of 3 students. The boy in the white and print sweat shirt is resourse and the others are a mix. Thet are using hot glue guns and think cardboard as the columns. The next picture is of Terrance and he is making shields for the argonauts to fight the cyclops. Terance is disabled. The third picture is of five of my girl students. They all made the dresses they are wearing using no sewing at all. Three of the students are classified at-risk. They are all passing English and World History and go to tutoring for Algebra. The fourth picture is of the completed entrance to the parthenon. The fifth picture is of our team leader and English teacher who orginated the project. As she says,"The kids will never forget the Illiad."

Week six Audio and Video Emerging Technologies

Well, It's been interesting this past week. To bad the weather created such a havoc with my last day. I downloaded and transferred a file from Jim Murray today, found out Cherrina's from New Orleans area, found out that many people are working at 7:ooAM like myself so enjoyed a morning conversation. The best things were the uses for a pod. I went out and picked one up. Of course didn't realize all the uses but plan on putting them to good usestarting tomorrow. This should be an interesting last 6 weeks.

World History at Edison H.S.: Question for the week

World History at Edison H.S.: Question for the week

Week five

Well, this week started out on a high. I really thought I would accomplish alot but unfortunately nothing seems to go my way. I even recieved some negative comments from the Professor. It seems others are having different problems with time constrains. I wonder if they are recieving the same negative comments. I visited Al Lockett's blog today and found only one comment. i was wondering if this was standard procedure. He really just got on the MSN messanger service today. I was hoping to get more information. I hope to be incontact with him next week since I'll be in New Orleans. His tutoring program sounded interesting. I messengered with Kathy who was on the way to Florida. I couldn't believe she wasn't flying. Oh well! It's been an interesting week. I understand the OlE learning constructivist approach but am inclear on the ways you can use it in a classroom.I currently am developing a digital move program and on some online activities for students. I quess all this takes Time. Well, Hope everyone had a nice Easter and enjoy the warm weather?

Week Four Blogs and Wiki

Well, this week was very interesting. I did an online group chat with Arlene, Charrina and Mia. Also I had a very length conversation with Doc. Powley. We are going to have a video chat next week which should be very interesting since I've never done it before. I have made comments too a multiplied of classmates and hope they share some of there expertise with me. I am planning a large scale of informational importation into my classroom blog. I have become a member in good standing with the wikiedpedia assoc. I am now able to edit some of there information.

I plan on using my classroom blog to get kids involved in writing and recapping articles which they are starting to read as the last semester comes around. I'm hoping they will use the blog as a formun.

As the class gets underway I really am looking forward to the exciting information and new media techniques I am learning.
